Head of State Commission for regulation of financial services markets of Ukraine Victor Suslov supported leasing industry at the annual UUL Association general meeting, which was held yesterday in Hyatt Regency Hotel. Mr. Suslov pointed out that leasing market grows enormously and has a huge potential.

Taking into account that Association's companies represent 85 % of the market, Mr. Suslov expressed his readiness to consider the possibility of giving the Union the status of self-regulation organization.

"The Commission can be the state institution which will bring in and consistently support legislative initiatives of the Union in the Cabinet of Ministers and Verkhovna Rada*» – the Head of Commission reported.

In his opinion, the important aspects of cooperation between the Association and Commission include market analysis, transition to international standards of financial data reporting, as well as approaching the industry to European standards. The speaker also informed the participants of the meeting about creation of joint leasing committee, which would consist of market and Commission specialists.

At the end of his speech, Mr. Suslov thanked the lessors for the educational seminar which was provided for Commission employees earlier.

The Executive Director of UULMarina Murga made a report about 2009 activities  and 2010 plans of the Association.

Besides, «Personality of leasing market–2009» rating results were announced. The first, second and third place were given, accordingly, to CEOs of   «Raiffeisen Leasing Aval» (Peter Oberauer), «Euro Leasing» (Roman Ivanenko), «Lasca Leasing» (Tetyana Saus).
