According to the leasing market research, provided by the Union in cooperation with State Ñommission for regulation financial services markets of Ukraine, the market stabilizes and at the same time the some negative trends continue, which is related to the crisis state of the economy.
The total value of ongoing agreements at the end of the 3rd quarter of 2009 remained approximately at the same level compared to same period last year and equaled to almost UAH 30 b.
At the same time substantial decrease of new business rates is marked in comparison to the same period last year, which can be explained by a careful risk-management policy and a general decline of business-activity in the economy. However, the value of the new deals stabilized - the sum for the analyzed period remains practically the same as for the previous quarter (-2%).
The funding situation is represented by the financial sources information. In the analyzed period the share of bank credits diminished substantially, making only 34 %, while at the same period last year this index evened to 72%. The decrease of this segment can be explained with the growth of another share - borrowings from the legal entities, which in the 3rd quarter produced a 26% growth. Share of leasing companies own funds in financing agreements increased by almost three times. The growth of specific sources is connected, as well as in previous periods, with absence of the access to the bank loans.
Among the assets, as well as before, mostly transport was financed - 53 % from the total value of assets, the second biggest share is agricultural equipment, computer and telecommunication equipment, printing equipment. The structure of assets practically didn’t change compared to the same period last year, which shows the demand on above-mentioned assets is stable. In the covered period absence of real estate leasing agreements is marked, though last year some agreements took place.
«Trends of the third quarter were fully forecasted: our analysts consider that the market has already reached the bottom line and started to grow», - the executive director of UUL Marina Murga gives her comments on leasing market situation.
