Ukrainian Union of Lessors and Association of Ukrainian banks signed a cooperation Memorandum in order to defend creditors and investors’ rights.
After signing the Memorandum parties took part at the press-conference. Among speakers were UUL executive director Maryna Murga, UUL board chairman Roman Ivanenko, AUB president Oleksandr Sugonyako, and AUB first vice-president Volodymyr Bondar.
As the participants of the press-conference declared, lessors have a lot of common problems with banks: bad debt, frauds, illegitimate court decisions, non-effective execution system, fake bankruptcies etc. This situation resulted in the necessity to unite efforts of banks and lessors with the aim of defending creditors and investors’ rights.
Memorandum, signed by the parties, foresees the creation of «united front of creditors», exchange of information that will help create the full record of non-payers. With this aim the parties agreed to work together at the improvement of existing legal environment, development of judicial practice etc.
Besides, Memorandum foresees conducting joint events in order to increase lessees awareness of the outcomes of debts. It is also agreed to improve clients’ accounting to avoid crediting unreliable clients in the future. The parties foresee cooperation at creating legislation, providing each other consulting and practical services.
